Another popular area in the district is the Shoppes of Avondale. Here you’ll find some of the best boutique stores, locally-owned eateries, and beautiful streets that are lined with grand oak trees.
If you’re looking for a nature escape, you should head out to the Fort George Island Cultural State Park. This park is a wildlife viewing area, a historic landmark, and a prime location for outdoor recreation.
You can enjoy an endless number of activities there. From cycling, kayaking, and boating to canoeing, hiking, and bird watching, you’ll never get bored! Fort George Island Cultural State Park is also home to the famous Kingsley Plantation, which you can visit while you’re there.
Adventure Landing, located at Jacksonville Beach, is a real gem of a theme park. This is a perfect attraction that you can visit with your family. There are enough fun activities for both adults and children alike.
Among other things, you can enjoy go-karts, laser tag, mini-golf, and lots of water splash attractions. For the adrenaline seekers, Adventure Landing hosts a cutting-edge rollercoaster 3D Max Flight.
This attraction is a top pick for families with children. The Museum of Science and History (MOSH) is located in an old Victorian home. The museum has now grown into one of the most respected establishments of its kind in the whole state of Florida.

The St. Johns Riverwalk has played an important role in the history of Jacksonville. Its importance continues into modern times as it is now used for commercial transportation. The walkways that have been built along the river are great for cycling, running, walking, or jogging.
When you walk along the water during the daytime, you may stumble upon numerous street performers. As the night falls on Jacksonville, the riverwalk becomes more romantic. You’ll see both sides of the river slowly lighting up as people gather in restaurants for a nice dinner.
One of the top “hidden” attractions in Jacksonville is Amelia Island. This island has a colorful history as the English, Spanish, French, and Scottish troops have all tried to capture it. Amelia Island still has historic charm to this day.
Now you can walk around Amelia Island’s brick sidewalks in its capital town of Fernandina Beach. The beautiful Victorian structures have been there since the late 19th century. You’ll find these buildings filled with local restaurants, art galleries, and boutique shops.
